Our Story
We are a non-denominational, bible-teaching plant of Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
Our Roots
Parkside Church (then called The Chapel) began in the 1960’s as a group of people who met to pray and study the Bible on Cleveland’s East Side.
God has blessed Parkside’s prayer to see unbelieving people become committed followers of Jesus Christ throughout Northeastern Ohio and around the world.
We believe that the local church is at the heart of God’s mission to redeem a people for himself through the good news of Jesus. Toward this end, Parkside aims to launch plants around the area that will become independent Bible-teaching churches.
God has guided steps toward this goal through the addition of of Parkside Green (2009), Shoreline Church (2012), Parkside Church Westside (2015), and Parkside Heights Church (2021).
Our Launch
Continuing in this pattern, we began prayerfully pursuing Parkside’s next church plant.
Due to the number of Parkside members living in the greater Kent area and the need for Bible-teaching churches to reach the community and the university we began to prayerfully consider Kent, Ohio as a possible location.
After a positive response to information meetings in January and February of 2024 a group of people began to meet together on Sunday evenings starting in March of 2024. These core team gatherings provided an opportunity to build biblical and relational foundations for the future.
God provided a location to meet at Theodore Roosevelt High School and we began worshipping together in September of 2024.
