Christians need hope during life’s trials. Pointing to the security of our hope in Jesus, Peter calls Christians to look back to the mercy of God and look forward to our heavenly inheritance. In the present Peter reminds us that our trials are not meaningless. We can rejoice and persevere knowing that each trial is used by God and every trial will come to an end.
